An innovate gateway with advanced functions offering a single solution for integrating Mitsubishi Electric City Multi systems in practically any BMS installation based on Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU or KNX communication protocols.
Technical characteristics
Main functions of gateway
Monitoring and storing data
The ME-AC-MBS-KNX-100 gateway can be used to easily integrate Mitsubishi Electric City Multi systems in an installation based on Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, KNX or BACnet/IP communication protocols.
The gateway functions as the server for the installation itself, acquiring the signals of all the air conditioning units in the system and monitoring and controlling the entire network.
The gateway continuously polls the network and logs the current status of each signal monitored, allowing the installer to access this data whenever it is needed.
Error notification
When the state of a signal changes, the gateway sends a WRITE telegram to the installation, waits for the response from the system and then executes the necessary action. A communication error is generated if no response is received from the system, which lets the installer determine the signal and the respective air conditioning unit related to the malfunction.
Connection
The interface is connected to the Modbus supervisor system either by an RS232/RS485 serial connection or a TCP/IP over Ethernet connection, and is connected to the Mitsubishi Electric VRF City Multi installation by Ethernet.
BMS interface for Modbus networks
The Modbus protocol
The Modbus communication protocol was initially used for PLC networks. Mitsubishi Electric offers an interface capable of controlling up to 100 indoor units (ME-AC-MBS-KNX-100) for managing a VRF City Multi installation via a BMS system.
The interface is connected to the Modbus supervisor system either by an RS232/RS485 serial connection or a TCP/IP over Ethernet connection, and is connected to the Mitsubishi Electric VRF City Multi installation by Ethernet.
BMS interface for KNX networks
The KNX protocol
KNX is one of the global standards for automated household and building control.
This open protocol ensures cross-compatibility between products from different manufacturers. Mitsubishi Electric offers an interface capable of controlling up to 100 indoor units (ME-AC- KNX-100) for managing a VRF City Multi installation via a BMS.
The interface is connected directly to the EIB bus linked to the KNX network, and to the Mitsubishi Electric VRF City Multi installation by Ethernet.
