The best of two worlds

The R32 version of the Ecodan Multi Series PXZ heat pump is a hybrid Air/Air and Air/Water system which lets you combine the flexibility of a multi-split air solution for heating and cooling with the comfort of an air/water heat pump that can be used for: heating and domestic hot water production, when used with the Hydrotank module, available with a domestic hot water accumulation capacity of 170, 200 or 300 litres; heating and domestic hot water production, when used with the Inwall built-in system with a domestic hot water accumulation capacity of 175 litres; or for heating only, when used with the Hydrobox module, which may be supplemented with an optional external boiler. This solution offers total flexibility for configuring the multi-split system, which may be made up of wall-mounted, floor-standing, ducted and ceiling indoor units.

A single system for all your thermal energy utilities

The innovative Ecodan Multi Series PXZ heat pumps for use with R32 refrigerant combine the typical comfort of air/water systems with the superlative energy efficiency and low power consumption of direct expansion air conditioning.

Two sizes are available: the 7.5 kW PXZ-4F75VG, connectible to up to 4 indoor units (1 hydronic unit + 3 direct expansion units), and the 8.5 kW PXZ-5F85VG, which can be connected to up to 5 indoor units (1 hydronic unit + 4 direct expansion units).

These heat pumps offer unprecedented ease of installation, as all the indoor units - selectable from an extensive range of products - are connected directly to a single outdoor unit, minimising not only the labour time required to install the system but also the amount of masonry work necessary.

These are highly energy-efficient units, with a rating of Class A+++ in cooling mode, Class A++ in heating mode, and Class A+ in domestic hot water production mode.

 Comfort, silence and effective operation are ensured to temperatures as low as -20 °C, while the ability to deliver water at output temperatures up to 55 °C makes these units ideally suited to any system configuration.

The entire system can be managed either locally or remotely via the MelCloud platform, which lets the user set the temperature for each individual room, control domestic hot water production and monitor energy consumption from a PC, smartphone or tablet.

Heat pump for heating/cooling with integrated domestic hot water production

Up to 4 direct expansion indoor units for heating and cooling indoor spaces can be connected directly to the outdoor unit. The outdoor unit can also be installed together with the Hydrotank indoor module, offering an integrated solution which caters for all heating and hot water production needs, with a water output temperature of up to 55 °C.

The Hydrotank module has its own 170, 200 or 300 litre accumulator tank to offer the ideal answer to a wide spectrum of domestic hot water requirements.

The module already contains all the key components of the primary water distribution circuit, making installation significantly easier and allowing for more effective space usage.

Heat pump for heating/cooling with optional external hot water accumulator tank

Up to 4 direct expansion indoor units for heating and cooling indoor spaces can be connected directly to the outdoor unit. The outdoor unit can also be installed together with the Hydrobox indoor module, which offers extraordinary operational versatility and flexibility for configuring the installation to cater for any heating requirements.

The heat pump can also be supplemented with an optional external boiler for domestic hot water production.

The unit already contains all the main components of the water distribution circuit (heat exchanger, water circulation pump, expansion tank, auxiliary electrical heating element and safety components).
